Day of the Dead

Today we celebrate Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.  Once again, I am unable to crop my scan.  For some reason, my program shuts down as soon as I try to open it.  I guess I'm going to see if taking photos will be better.  Sorry for all the white space.

The postage stamps were issued in the 4th quarter of 2022 and there were other goodies you could buy, including playing cards.  I cut these image from a Philatelic book my friend Sally gave me.  I used a security envelope for the background.

I was talking to my sweet next door neighbor and he informed me I had the date wrong.  Today is actually Cinco de Mayo which makes sense.  Day of the Dead is November 1.  Not sure how I got the dates wrong, but my brain has not been working properly for awhile.

BTW, today is my friend Halle's birthday.  I at least remember THAT!  Happy Cinco de Mayo everyone and enjoy this post which honors Day of the Dead.

Yes it is May 5, Cinco de Mayo, but I like your Day of The Dead layout and those cool bright envelopes. I haven't seen those stamps, but I like them. That's a nice piece.
And Yesterday in a comment you mentioned how Bluebirds would attack dogs. FYI: They watch mine, but their attack is only swooping in to chase them off. They haven't swooped in on the dogs yet, but I have seen them chase off other birds and even a red squirrel. Of course they need to take care of their babies. That's their job. I don't worry about them harming the dogs. I'm more afraid of the dogs being swiped with a bear paw (Pete loves to chase bears which is not good), or attacked by a coyote, bobcat, fisher, or even an owl or hawk that comes into the yard. They're both probably too big for a hawk, but I have seen a hawk take down a woodchuck, which was actually good because they got rid of the one who was destroying my gardens. With those kind of predators, a bluebird doesn't worry me. Smile.
Have a super Monday. hugs-Erika

Happy Cinco de Mayo and a very special birthday shoutout to Halle! It's so sweet that you still managed to honor the Day of the Dead with such a thoughtful post. I love the unique touch of using the postage stamps and security envelope – they give the whole thing a special, personal feel. It’s the thought and effort that count, and this post definitely shows that!

I’ve just shared a new blog post about 'Body Confident You' and a review of the 'Body Confident Kid' book. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it!
